The story behind
We once heard from a producer in Brazil that a coffee to be really a specialty, it needs to have a story behind it.
When we bought this coffee at the auction of the last Conexão Caparaó, back in Brazil, just before this crazy pandemic, we thought that this would be the story that would mark this coffee, and that it should be delivered to our consumers, the memories of an epic trip that ended in this incredible event, where only small producers from the region are allowed to participate with just one bag of coffee each, a lot more than special, which represents all the dedication, love and care of a whole year of hard work for each one of those producers. After all, a single bag at this auction can reach values that represent more than the rest of the harvest for some of these small family farmers.
Still in the auction tasting room, we knew we needed to fight for this coffee, as we were immediately hooked by its sensorial and we wanted to bring to our customers a little bit of that emotion that filled us.
At the end of the auction we embraced Mr. Paulo Medeiros but we did not imagine that the tone that would mark that hug would not be a celebration, but a farewell.
That would be his last harvest!
A few months after the event, Mr. Paulo Medeiros died as a result of heart attack.
This last bag is a tribute to the life and dedication of this beloved producer, Mr. Paulo Medeiros, who marked our history, leaving us his memory with this sweet coffee.
To the Medeiros Family, our deepest gratitude.
